Our Building Services Division provides customers with in-house teams of experts delivering comprehensive mechanical and electrical engineering FM services, including capital works and lifecycle renewal projects. This role will see you join a talented and dedicated team delivering Hard Facilities Management Services within the highly secure environment of the Ministry of Defence’s main headquarters in London.
We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for completing both pre-planned and reactive maintenance services at the Ministry of Defence's strategic tri-service UK headquarters — one of the largest and most secure office buildings in Europe, covering over one million square feet.
You’ll:
* Conduct Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and additional work requirements, adhering to engineering standards and Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA) regulations.
* Perform fault finding, plant adjustments, and inspections of mechanical and electrical services, plant, and systems.
* Execute maintenance tasks in line with contract specifications and respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests.
* Undertake multi-skilled duties, including testing, inspecting, and repairing motors, generators, chillers, Air Handling Units (AHUs), and maintaining foul water systems, drains, plumbing, and heating systems.
Fault finding and diagnosis of key building systems i.e., Heating and Cooling:
* Carry out electrical testing of critical plant and lighting systems.
We are looking for:
* Strong practical and theoretical knowledge of critical building systems within a Hard FM environment.
* Recognised & relevant UK qualification in a suitable engineering discipline, NVQ minimum level 3, City and Guilds equivalent.
* Proven experience in a multi-skilled role.
* Good knowledge of building management systems.
* Basic knowledge of Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems.
* Health & Safety IOSH qualification or equivalent.
* Proven experience in a client-facing role.
Ability to obtain and maintain MOD Security Clearance.
