About the Role:
Teaching Personnel is pleased to be recruiting for a committed and enthusiastic Year 2 Primary Teacher to join a friendly and welcoming primary school in Thornton-Cleveleys. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher who is passionate about working with children in Key Stage 1 and is dedicated to providing high-quality, engaging, and inclusive education.
As the Year 2 Teacher, you will play a vital role in helping students develop essential English, Maths and social skills as they progress towards Key Stage 2. You will be responsible for delivering an inspiring curriculum that fosters creativity, curiosity, and confidence in every child, tailoring your approach to support a range of learning needs and styles.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the Year 2 curriculum, ensuring each child can reach their full potential
* Create a safe, supportive, and positive classroom environment that promotes active learning and respect for others
* Use a range of assessment tools to monitor and track pupil progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed
* Develop engaging lesson plans that address key areas of learning, including phonics, reading, writing, mathematics, and social development
* Differentiate instruction to support individual learning needs and abilities, including children with additional needs or those requiring additional challenge
* Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing regular updates on pupils' progress and addressing any concerns
* Work collaboratively with colleagues, including TAs and support staff, to ensure all pupils have the best possible learning experience
* Uphold and promote the school’s safeguarding policies, maintaining a safe and inclusive environment for all pupils
Ideal Candidate:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification recognized in the UK
* Recent experience teaching within Key Stage 1, ideally in Year 2
* Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment requirements for KS1
* Excellent classroom management skills, with the ability to engage and motivate young learners
* A nurturing, patient, and adaptable approach, with a commitment to supporting each child’s unique learning journey
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
* A passion for fostering a love of learning in young children and a creative approach to lesson planning
