About the job
Salary: £13.26 - £13.47 per hour (£25,584 - £25,992 annually plus enhancements)
Working Pattern: Full time position (37 hours) based on a 4-week rota
Enhancements: Weekend working - Time & a half, Bank Holidays - Double time & Night enhancement (8pm - 10pm shifts)
Contract Length: Permanent
Location: Stanhope Lodge, Worthing

About Stanhope Lodge
Stanhope Lodge supports a wide range of people with both long-stay and short-break
accommodation. We provide individualised care and support with an emphasis on promoting independence and choice to help people to enjoy their lives and maintain existing, or develop new, skills, interests, opportunities, and friendships.
The staff team are keen to promote and develop community links and to enable people to be a part of the community they live in. Some people also attend day opportunity services in the local area where they can enjoy chosen activities and connect with their friends. The home welcomes visits and involvement from families and friends of those living and staying there.
Key Skills (These will be used as the shortlisting criteria)
* You are able to interpret information, such as service complaints, and redirect them to the appropriate person to provide quick and accurate resolution.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* You will show the ability to deal appropriately with expressive behaviour from the people we support, and respond sensitively to their families and carers.
* Confident in building relationships with people from a wide variety of cultural, religious and ethnic backgrounds.
* Enjoy working as part of a team completing shared tasks as required.
Qualifications and/ experience
* Basic literacy and numeracy skills, in order to record and document activities in the provider plans.
* Basic understanding of the needs of the people we support and their rights as an individual.
* Demonstrable successful experience of working as part of a team.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety practice, First Aid and Fire procedure, Manual Handling - Desirable
* NVQ 2/Diploma in Care or equivalent qualification - Desirable
* Previous experience of working in a care setting and with people who have a disability or are vulnerable - Desirable
* Previous experience of running group activities - Desirable
