Role Summary
The main functions of the Technical Regulatory Change and Risk Specialist role will be to:
1. Ensure regulatory and legislative developments are identified through Horizon scanning
2. Provide support for changes to EQ Retirement Solutions (EQRS) policies, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and mitigate potential risks
3. Responsible for providing pensions technical, compliance and regulatory guidance to EQRS
4. Providing monthly MI from technical guidance queries to identify trends and address training needs
5. Complete all mandatory training on an annual basis
6. Represent Risk and Control Team at various forums, establishing effective working relationships with key personnel within the business and across the industry
Role specifics
The holder of this role will be responsible for oversight and regulatory guidance, monitoring and assurance for EQRS and its clients.
7. Coordinating and managing the Regulatory Change Working Group
8. Contributing to regulatory change consultations where required
9. Monitoring and managing regulatory change activity, coordinating information and working with stakeholders across EQRS
10. Conducting assurance testing and sign off following regulatory changes
11. Responding to technical and compliance queries
12. Provide technical support for projects, communications, and training
13. Work collaboratively and in partnership with stakeholders
14. Support the 1st Line application of the risk management framework across EQRS and relevant clients
Other general day-to-day duties will include:
15. Identifying any trends or training needs and make recommendations to mitigate repeat findings
16. Carry out project and ad-hoc activities as determined by your line manager
Skills, Capabilities and Attributes
Essential
17. Excellent knowledge of tPR, FCA industry regulations, and all current pensions legislation
18. Proficient IT skills especially knowledge of core Microsoft Office applications.
19. Numerate, articulate, excellent attention to detail, good grammatical skills and able to present complex information in plain English
20. Ability to see the bigger picture and think strategically
21. Able to persuade and influence others to achieve agreed objectives
22. Experience of dealing with stakeholder groups/external organisations
23. Analytical thinker with an enquiring mind
24. Understanding of risk management activities
25. Financial awareness
Desirable
26. Understanding Risk Management Information Systems
27. Organised and self-motivated
28. Able to develop and manage relationships.
29. APMI or equivalent relevant experience or qualification
30. Pensions technical/compliance experience
31. Retirement provision Certificate/FPC/QPA
32. Active APMI student
33. A good working knowledge of pensions administration software
