Team Leadership: In addition to managing financial operations, you will mentor and support the Bookkeeper helping to upskill them and bring them to the next level of finance understanding. What you'll be doing: Overseeing company financial operations and improving financial insight. Managing a small team, developing the financial skills of the Accounts Assistant. Overall responsibility for monthly bank reconciliations, payroll and debtor management. Ensuring accurate and timely financial compliance and reporting. Working with Sage and Xero, ensuring smooth data integration between systems. Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns. Collaborating closely with the FD and MD on upscaling and process improvements. Spearheading sustainability initiatives as the business expands. Improving current inventory and stock management systems. Monitoring and forecasting cashflow. Liaising with external accountants (top 40) to ensure timely account submissions. Overseeing annual reporting to Companies House and supporting budgeting processes. Planning and securing funding arrangements when required. Advising on dividend planning and regulatory compliance. Conducting business performance reviews and advising on opportunities for development. Providing strategic insights on financial planning, forecasting, and margin analysis. Collaborating closely with colleagues across the office and warehouse. What we are looking for: Part or fully qualified, but experience within wholesale and similar sectors would also be considered. Knowledge of Excel, Sage and Xero - not essential to have all, but confidence with systems is vital. Experience with inventory, stock management and bills of materials highly beneficial. Ability to improve financial processes, bringing fresh insights and strategies to a growing business. Knowledge of sustainability initiatives would be beneficial as the company expands its focus. Excellent communication and team management and collaboration skills. Attention to detail and a proactive mindset are essential. What's on offer: Between £60k and £70k full time equivalent.
