Job type: 20 hours per week
Working Hours: Flexible hours to cover a mixture of early, late and weekend shifts.
Salary: £13,676.00 per annum + Excellent benefits

In this role, the successful Swimming Co-ordinator will implement and control on-site administration, contributing to the operation and development of the Swimming Lesson programme and have responsibility for the safety and skill advancement of the pupils in your care.
On a day to day basis your duties will include, assist with objectives to increase the number of participants for the swimming lesson programme, deliver marketing materials with regards to current and forthcoming swimming lesson offers, input/update computerised swimming lesson booking system, assess Swim teachers to ensure compliance with teaching/administration processes, instruct individuals/groups in line with the Learn to Swim scheme for swimming or other aquatic activities, provide schemes of work and lesson plans and promote and support the swimming lesson scheme.
You will help in facilitating a safe, fun, and professional working environment with excellent training and development opportunities, as well as a free membership to our leisure centre.
Serco manages these facilities on a day-to-day basis on behalf of the Trust
About you
To be considered for this role you will need to hold either a STA Award/Certificate in Teaching Swimming or Swim England (Previously ASA) Level 2. and it’s desirable but not essential that you hold a qualification in water safety/lifesaving (NPLQ)
You will have excellent customer service skills as you’ll be interacting heavily with our customers and your team of Swimming Teachers. So, whether you’ve earned that experience in a leisure or another customer facing environment, you’ll be a people person who is happy dealing with people of all ages and backgrounds.
Lastly, you will have good basic finance, IT, and clerical/administrative skills and extensive and up to date knowledge of current swim teaching practices and safety requirements for management of swimming lessons.

This exciting opportunity has arisen to lead the operational and commercial responsibility for all aquatics activity and revenue lines at Stoke Mandeville Leisure centre, while managing our dedicated Swim teachers’ team. This includes learn to swim (More Swimming Academy), school swimming. casual swimming & PAYG, swim club & external hire and ticketed events (such as inflatables) & overall pool programme
This role will drive the commercial growth and financial results of all aquatics activity above and will be measured on core KPIs (inclusive of income, profit, cost, participation, length of stay & retention). This key role sits within the Senior Management team and is crucial to the business.
You will help in facilitating a safe, fun, and professional working environment with free access to the leisure facilities, various discounts, and excellent development opportunities.
About you
The successful candidate will hold a Swim England Level 2 Swimming Teacher or STA level 2 award and Certificate in Teaching Swimming.
This role is ideal for someone with a passion for swimming and teaching children this crucial life skill and / or someone seeking to progress their leisure management career.
