The Role of the Shift Electrical Technician
Reporting to the team leader / shift engineer your duties will involve attending breakdowns,
Fault finding
Undertaking planned maintenance schedules across a wide range of equipment.
The role will involve working a mixture of day shifts, night shifts, and weekend shifts to provide round the clock support to a modern rolling and finishing facility.

Requirements of the Shift Electrical Technician
Essential Requirements of the Shift Electrical Technician
Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and work with technical data
Previous experience of PPM and reporting of PPM activities and breakdowns
Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and work with technical data
Experience of general electrical fault finding
Experience of maintenance of A.C. and D.C. motors, drives (up to 1000kW), inverters and overhead crane maintenance
Hold a Recognised Electrical apprenticeship (BTEC/ONC at level 3 ANDHNC/HND orequivalent)
Experience with PLC investigation and interrogation (Preferably Siemens S7)
A good understanding and knowledge of Health Safety Legislation with experience of adhering to safe working procedures, risk assessments and permit systems
Good level of problem-solving awareness

Desirable Requirements of the Shift Electrical Technician
Previous experience of completing work under calibration and industrial compliance systems
Knowledge of and experience with a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) for reporting purposes
Working knowledge of 18th Edition IET regulations
Experience of working in confined spaces and at heights
Previous experience of completing work under calibration and industrial compliance systems
The Working Pattern of a Shift Electrical Technician
This role includes 12-hour days and night shifts. This includes weekends with days off in the week.
