Deal Tree Health Centre located in Brentwood, has an opening for a medical secretary to join our administration team on part-time basis. Hours can be discussed upon application, but the ideal applicant will be required to work 4/5 hours, two days per week, one must be a Friday and the other either a Monday or a Tuesday. This is a busy and varied role, the main duties of which are: Registering and deducting patients. Processing and managing all referrals – liaising with external agencies, such as hospitals and community services, where necessary to ensure referrals are processed efficiently. Processing requests for information i.e. SAR, insurance/solicitors letters and DVLA forms. Typing letters, reports and associated documentation as required from dictation (Lexacom). Answering telephone enquiries from patients and healthcare professionals. Monitoring practice email accounts. Assisting the practice manager with other administrative duties and reports as required. About the Candidate We would welcome applications from those with the following skills and experience: Accuracy and excellent attention to detail. Proven organisation skills. Ability to work independently and under pressure. Confident in the use of Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel and Outlook). Working knowledge of SystmOne clinical system. Proficient touch and audio typist. Knowledge of medical terminology. Previous GP practice experience would be an advantage. Flexibility to cover holidays/sickness is essential. Our 9,500 patients are currently looked after by an established clinical team under the leadership of four GP partners.
