We are looking for 5 sessions GP cover to provide maternity leave. Days are Tuesday morning and all day Wednesdays and Thursdays. The post will be fixed term for 9-12 months, starting in April 2025. The post will work within a multidisciplinary team dealing with on the day patient appointments, pre-booked and follow-ups. This will be structured around BMS safe working guidelines, offering 15-minute appointments. We strive to offer a good work/life balance.
Main duties of the job
Clinical Responsibilities:
Undertaking a variety of duties including telephone triage, acute and routine appointments, both face to face and telephone consultations, visiting patients at home (where appropriate), and duty doctor sessions (half days only). We are a training practice, with a mix of Foundation year 2 doctors and GP registrars, but also supervision for Clinical Pharmacist and nursing team. You will be allocated daily administration tasks including Docman, pathology, checking and signing repeat prescriptions/EPS, and dealing with queries and letters during allocated admin time.

Our Clinical team is made up of 6 GP Partners, a Salaried GP, Foundation Year 2 doctors, Clinical Pharmacist, Nurse, Registered Nurse Associate, HCA, Social Prescribers, Mental Health Practitioner, and MIND workers. Our support team includes Patient Service Coordinator, Administrative lead for QOF and recalls, Secretarial team, Pharmacy technicians, and our valuable reception team.

Qualifications
* Fully qualified GP - registered with GMC
* Ideally with at least 2 years experience of working in General practice.
Experience
* Experience of working in General Practice, either as a salaried or Locum.
* Ideally with at least 2 years experience of working in General practice.
