An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join the Site Engineering Support Services team as a Workshop Engineer. RAF Cosford is the home of the Defence School of Aeronautical Engineering and support a number of other Defence Training Units. The successful candidate will work within the Workshops under the wider Operations Support Wing alongside other engineering personnel. They will provide engineering support to the Unit by calibrating and integrity testing all registered items of Mechanical and Electrical Test and Measuring Equipment (TME) used in live and training environments. The position is advertised at 37 hours per week., The Engineer position will be responsible for and required to: Calibrating and carrying out Unit Test Procedures on all types of Mechanical and Electrical Test and Measuring Equipment. Carrying out Routine Maintenance of TME as required. Processing the despatch and receipt to and from external agencies of all TME assets requiring off site calibration and maintenance. Collection and Delivery of TME assets from inventory holders. Assisting with the setting up of Audio Visual Aids for Conferences, Graduations and other internal and external events. Assisting with Quality Assurance tasks as required by Line Management. Supporting Line Manager and Foreman with any other Workshops related tasks as required.,

Hold a Level 3 Engineering qualification, supported by evidence of practical experience or academic certification.
Hold a full UK driving licence. Capable of manual handling tasks when loading and unloading Audio Visual Aids equipment into vehicles and transporting them around event venues indoors and outdoors. Be familiar with MS Office 365. Be capable of using basic MS Word and Excel programs.
