Job Title: English Teacher
Salary: Up to £45,000 perannum
Location: New Barn School, Newbury, Berkshire
Contract: Permanent;Term Time only
Hours: 40hours per week, Monday to Friday

New Barn School offers abroad, balanced and relevant curriculum to boys and girls, aged6–19 years who have Social, Emotional and Mental Healthcomplexities.

Job Summary andDuties
Working as an English Teacherfor New Barn School, you will deliver fun educational basedlearning which is tailored to each of our pupils to ensure theywill achieve positive results.
The role will bechallenging but rewarding, working in a dynamic environment whereyou can make a real difference. You will be expected to lead theteaching of and co-ordinate flexible, person-centred programmes ofstudy for individuals and groups of pupils. You will be able todemonstrate a practical, hands-on approach to teaching and beprepared to go above and beyond for the young people wesupport.
Following a thorough inductionprogramme, your duties will include:
* Preparing, planning and assessing teachingsessions whilst maintaining an awareness of curriculumdevelopments
* Writing andimplement individual education plans, making assessments ofeducational attainment, setting challenging yet achievabletargets
* Build relationshipswith all young people, which will encourage their interest andparticipation in their education
* Creating an environment which is stimulating andpurposeful for all pupils to promote teaching and learning outsidethe formal classroom settings
Key Skills Required
* QTS/QTLS
* Previous experience teaching English, deliveringteaching at a good or outstanding level
* Knowledge of current education issues inrelation to terms of practise, process andcurriculum
* Be experiencedin or have an interest working within an SEN setting, supportingpupils and young people with challenging behaviour(SEMH/EBD)
