The postholder is responsible producing accurate, effective and timely reports of Trust income to Trust managers and staff. The postholder will lead the core management accounts team ensuring comprehensive financial management information is made available to the senior finance team and Business Partners in accordance with agreed national and local
timescales.
Reporting directly to the Assistant Director of Finance – Core Management Accounting the post holder will be a key member of the Finance Team and will be responsible for the overall management and performance of the core management accounts and income team.
Ensuring the efficiency, effectiveness, integrity and business focus of financial Management Accounts core processes are maintained.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Leading a team the postholder will take responsibility for:
•. Investigating and advising on highly complex issues. Promoting a culture of continuous improvement within in the Finance Department
• Promoting an environment of strong financial control within the Trust and challenge non-compliance and/or behaviour that disregards the Trust’s financial principles, procedures and policies
• Creating a culture of performance management within the Finance Division that seeks and finds solutions to financial problems and maximises financial opportunities.
• Designing & reporting to facilitate the appropriate reporting of performance against Aligned Incentive Contracts and the evaluation of contractual risks.

Experience/ Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Completion of CCAB recognised accountancy qualification (fully qualified Chartered Accountant) plus significant additional experience to demonstrate the post holder has met defined competency requirements (as required of the Professional Accountancy bodies) in the form of specific work experience. Acquisition of the skills below is considered to require post qualification experience in a senior management role demonstrating experience equivalent to a masters degree followed by an extensive period in a Directorate Finance Manager role demonstrating experience equivalent to a doctorate.

3. Specialist knowledge of National Tariff Payment System, in particular as they relate to acute providers. Extensive knowledge of contract monitoring and pricing systems.
