MPC Engineer - Immingham
Job Summary:
To effectively, competently and safely carry out machine preparation and inline inspection to the highest standards.
Main Tasks / Responsibilities / Authorities:
1. To carry out pre-delivery inspection and local preparation, including but not limited to; the fitting of buckets, vandal guards, q-fits, radios, reverse cameras, and any optional extras that may be required.
2. To ensure all machines are checked as detailed on the Pre Delivery Inspection and extras sheet.
3. To carry out all work in line with time guides, highlighting to the Supervisor where additional work may be required.
4. Ensure software updates are installed as new versions are released.
5. Accurate completion of systems/paperwork.
6. Complete Personal Digital Assistance inputs in 'real time' providing comprehensive details of the work undertaken.
7. To ensure a smart and professional appearance, wearing appropriate work wear and Personal Protective Equipment, and to ensure housekeeping in your work area is of a high standard.
8. In regards to company tooling (including but not limited to laptops, specialist tooling and lifting equipment), ensure defects are reported, use is in line with current test periods and in line with instructions/training.
9. Maintain a sufficient personal toolkit to enable you to carry out the job effectively.
10. To operate at all times within the guidelines as laid down in the Health & Safety at Work Act and adhere to all COSHH regulations.
11. To assist and coach colleagues with technical support where necessary.
12. To be prepared to work with Trainees as a coach, mentor and guide when required.
13. Flexibility to work overtime as and when necessary.
14. To attend any relevant product or systems training courses, staying away from home where required, to ensure a high standard of competence required to efficiently complete workshop duties.
15. When applicable, ensure the SMT GB premises are locked and secure on exiting the building, in line with key holding responsibilities.
16. Work in accordance with SMT GB standards of health, safety, quality and environmental care.
17. Any other duties that may be reasonably requested by your manager.
Requirements

Education / Professional Qualifications required for the position:
1. A formal engineering qualification in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural/HGV mechanics (i.e. NVQ 2/C&G).
2. Relevant experience in the preparation and repair of heavy construction plant including hydraulics and electrics or Plant and Equipment.
3. Desirable: Welding ability.
