Job Title: Construction Estimator Location: Shrewsbury, UK Salary: £55,000 - £70,000 per annum (depending on experience) Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent About the Company: We are a well-established and growing construction company based in Shrewsbury, delivering high-quality residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments across the region. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team and play a key role in the pre-construction and tendering phases of our projects. Role Overview: As a Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of construction projects. Working closely with project managers, quantity surveyors, and clients, you will ensure that all estimates are thorough, realistic, and aligned with project goals and timelines. Key Responsibilities: Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for construction projects. Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate estimates. Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain up-to-date pricing and quotes. Assess project risks, constraints, and opportunities, incorporating them into cost plans. Attend site visits and client meetings as necessary to fully understand project requirements. Collaborate with the project team to develop value engineering options and cost-saving strategies. Maintain a database of historical costs and pricing information. Monitor industry trends and changes in material and labour costs. Requirements: Proven experience in construction estimating, ideally within residential and/or commercial sectors. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations. Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines. A relevant qualification in construction management, quantity surveying, or a related field is preferred.
