Job Opportunity: Director of Financial Control
Are you an experienced finance professional looking for a leadership role in a dynamic and regulated environment? We are seeking a Director of Financial Control to oversee financial reporting, statutory compliance, and internal controls for a key business entity.
About the Role:
Reporting to the CFO and Group Controller, this role ensures the integrity of financial statements, leads compliance with UK regulatory requirements, and provides strategic financial support to business teams. You will play a key role in overseeing statutory accounting and reporting processes by corporate policies, US GAAP, and SEC requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure integrity and accuracy of financial reporting, ensuring compliance with US and UK GAAP accounting standards.
2. Lead the statutory audit process, liaising with external auditors and internal teams.
3. Strengthen internal controls and optimize business processes through performance monitoring and risk management.
4. Provide financial guidance on business transactions, including acquisitions, investments, and intercompany arrangements.
5. Work in partnership with Risk, Legal, and Tax teams to manage compliance, regulatory filings, and reporting.
6. Oversee defined benefit pension accounting and liaise with external advisors on disclosures and treasury-related matters.
7. Manage intercompany arrangements and ensure proper financial reporting in collaboration with the Global Business Services Center (GBSC).
8. Support the CFO in ensuring compliance with Bank of England oversight requirements.
9. Manage banking activities in coordination with Treasury.
10. Lead and develop a team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
About You:
1. Extensive experience in accounting, controls, and financial processes within a global organization or Big 4 firm (a mix of both preferred).
2. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
3. Strong knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS accounting and reporting.
4. Proven ability to assess and enhance financial and operational controls.
5. Strong project management skills and ability to drive change.
6. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
7. Experience working in regulated environments is a plus.
