Cedar Hope Care Services Ltd (part of the Independent Social Work Partnership (ISWP) Group) is a Reading based company. Cedar Hope Care Services Ltd is led by qualified professionals including registered nurses and social workers.
Role description:
This role is with Cedar Hope Care Services Ltd, supporting young people and adults in the community, within their homes and in our registered services. The young people and adults' needs vary and can include learning disabilities, autism and mental health, Alzheimer’s, dementia, and other needs.
The Role involves shift work, patterns are as follows: 8.00 am to 2.00 pm, 2.00 pm to 8.00 pm, 8.00 pm to 8.00 am, or 8.00 am to 8.00 pm.
Duties will include:
1. Assist in carrying out individual programmes of care.
2. Assist with the day-to-day individual care needs of the service user, including personal and intimate care, personal hygiene.
3. Assist in providing constructive activities taking into account the particular needs of the person.
4. Provide support to maximise the service user’s independence.
5. Ensure the maintenance of high standards of nutrition, health, safety, cleanliness, and personal hygiene.
6. Provide support and opportunities for the service user to develop contact with people outside the service.
7. Dispense and record medication.
8. Work in a way that treats everyone equally and fairly, whilst promoting service user’s rights and dignity at all times.
9. Assist service users to plan holidays and support them if needed.
10. Support service users in conjunction with the local authority safeguarding policy.
11. Support service users in positive risk-taking.
Person specification:
1. Satisfactory clearance of an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS, formerly CRB).
2. Proof of right to work in the UK.
3. Ability to demonstrate awareness/understanding of equal opportunities and other people’s behaviour, physical, social, and welfare needs.
4. Good report writing skills.
5. Good English language skills.
6. Demonstrate professionalism.
7. Ability to travel effectively to different locations; driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferred but not essential.
8. Flexibility - You must be willing to work evenings and weekends.
9. Previous experience in a similar role.
