As Civil Design Engineer / Civil Project Manager you will join a busy Civil Infrastructure team in Belfast. Due to an increasing pipeline of work on a range of community improvement projects, including Public Realm, Environmental Improvement Schemes, Blue/Green Infrastructure, MUGA’s and Greenways.
Our Client established their practice in 1963 in Belfast and has an enviable client base built on fostering partnerships and building relationships within Public and Private Sectors and the supply chain. They successfully deliver prestigious construction projects within Education, Leisure, Infrastructure (Road and Water), Residential, Environmental and Commercial sectors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a member of the Civil Engineering Infrastructure Team, and under the guidance of senior team members, you will undertake the following duties:
1. Preparation of conceptual, schematic and detailed design solutions for various elements of civil infrastructure engineering work.
2. Liaising and co-ordinating with clients, design team members, both in-house, other offices and/or external consultants.
3. Assisting clients with achieving statutory approvals.
4. Attending and contributing to design team meetings and client liaison meetings as appropriate.
5. Preparation of drawings lists, specifications and design risk assessments using AutoCAD, Microdrainage and Microsoft Office software.
6. Assisting in the preparation of drawing lists, programmes, specifications and progress reports using Microsoft Office software.
7. Managing and leading procurement of contractors on behalf of clients.
8. Undertaking the role of NEC Project Manager throughout construction.
9. Any other relevant engineering/management duties as may be required from time to time and as determined by Directors.
To be considered for this role you will have:
10. Applicants must have a degree in Civil Engineering.
11. Previous experience in design activities related to similar civil infrastructure projects.
12. Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
13. Confidence and ability to work within a team, but with a degree of autonomy.
14. Experience of project management would be beneficial.
