We’re representing a leading FMCG group who are looking for an Overhead & Payroll Accountant to join their finance team for an initial 12-month fixed term contract, with the possibility of going permanent. This is a hybrid role (minimum three days onsite), and will oversee cost centres, manage budget forecasts, and handle weekly payroll data for 450+ employees.
Responsibilities:
* Create weekly payroll csv upload files to submit to external payroll provider
* Liaise with HR regarding new starters, leavers and changes to employment terms
* Process court orders and statutory payments, e.g. parental leave and SSP
* Submit pension information to NEST
* Manage employee queries relating to pay and pensions
* Process weekly expenses for payment
* Post all payroll related journals
* Other ad hoc payroll duties
* Processing POs for central cost overheads
* Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the overhead lines including posting accruals, prepayments and adjustments and balance sheet reconciliations.
* Reporting on key variances and working with cost centre owners to identify areas of opportunity or risk
* Assist in budget and forecasting process for overhead lines
* Proactive support for cost centre managers and develop a review process with cost centres to manage their overhead budgets
