We are an established Renewable Energy and Engineering business within the transportation industry looking for an experienced Technician to support and work with our team of technicians servicing and delivering solutions (technical engineering) across our sites.
This position is for a temporary contract of 12 months. The role entails 24/7 remote monitoring of multiple refuelling stations to ensure smooth operations.
As the primary contact for customers, it involves handling communication about operational, safety, and engineering matters while proactively updating customers on station availability. The position includes supporting Site Attendants with troubleshooting, prioritising breakdown responses, and liaising with engineers and OEMs. It is also the emergency response focal point for incidents near refuelling stations. It oversees the reliable supply of LNG across all sites, along with occasional visits to various UK stations.
This 24/7 role involves remote monitoring of multiple refuelling stations, ensuring seamless operations. The Technician is the primary customer contact for operational, safety, and engineering issues, proactively managing station availability and troubleshooting. Responsibilities include coordinating breakdown responses with engineers and OEMs, serving as the emergency response contact, and overseeing reliable LNG supply, with occasional site visits.
Four days on, four days off, with nine-hour overlapping shifts, including a one-hour handover period.
Key Responsibilities:
1. 24/7 Remote Monitoring: Oversee all aspects of refuelling station operations (including fuelling and tanker unloading) using computer systems and CCTV. Respond to alarms, trips, and security breaches while maintaining detailed records. The sites are complex, hazardous, cryogenic, and high-pressure facilities.
2. Customer Communication: Act as the primary contact for all customer inquiries and operational issues, providing remote support and guidance via intercom systems. Coordinate with engineers and other personnel as needed.
3. Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve operational issues, utilising Site Champions for support and escalating as necessary. Ensure safe operation and maintenance of all equipment, adhering to all safety and environmental regulations. Manage the computerised maintenance management system (CMMS).
4. Emergency Response: Act as the first responder to emergencies, contacting emergency services and internal personnel according to established procedures. You will report to the Maintenance Manager.

Experience and Capabilities:
Experience in remote monitoring/control centres, particularly with hazardous materials like gas and cryogenics, is valuable. A good understanding of relevant health and safety legislation, such as the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, is essential. Experience with LNG/CNG refuelling stations and industrial plant maintenance would be advantageous, as would familiarity with PSSR regulations.
If you have experience within renewable energy (EV) or HAZOP engineering (for example airside engineering), this would also be suitable.
