Design Technology (DT) Technician Opportunity in SW London- Immediate Start
Are you passionate about Design Technology and eager to support students in a creative learning environment? Tradewind Recruitment is partnering with a dynamic secondary school to recruit a DT Technician for the current academic year. This exciting role begins immediately, subject to a successful trial day and interview, and runs through to the end of the school year.

Role: Design Technology (DT) Technician
Salary: £14-£16 per hour
Hours: 8:15 am - 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday
Location:Merton, SW LDN

Key Responsibilities
As a DT Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the Design Technology department by:
Assisting teachers in preparing and setting up materials for practical lessons and projects.
Maintaining the DT workshop, tools, and equipment, ensuring a safe and organised environment.
Providing technical support and guidance to students during their design and construction activities.
Monitoring and managing stock levels, ordering supplies as needed.
Collaborating with staff to create hands-on, engaging activities that inspire creativity.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience as a DT Technician in a school or a related field such as engineering or art.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and 3D printing systems.
Experience working with various materials, including polymers, metals, and wood.
Familiarity with maintaining and safely using DT tools and equipment.
A passion for Design Technology and the ability to inspire creativity in students.To be successful, you'll need:
A design-related degree or relevant experience in a similar role.
An enhanced DBS disclosure and professional reference checks.
A CV covering the last 10 years of employment history, if applicable.
The legal right to work in the UK.
