About the job Reporting to the Managing Director you will be responsible for the management of a global sales team; crafting & delivering an effective sales strategy in order to increase product market position and increase sales in line with company targets, as well as identifying business opportunities and developing individual strategies in collaboration with Sales Managers. The main office & production facility is based in Westbury, Wiltshire, UK. Responsibilities also include: Driving sales for our three product lines: Gas Transfer Systems (primarily LNG related), Gas Fueling Systems (on ships using low carbon fuels) and Safety Couplings. Coordinate the sales activities to achieve the annual order intake goals for each of the three market scenarios: Gas Transfer Systems market, based on high value LNG projects involving multiple stakeholders such as shipyards, shipowners and EPC companies. Gas Fueling Systems market, driven by de-carbonisation targets in the shipping industry, with high volumes of special components sale to international shipyards and shipowners. Safety Couplings, a product based market, serving a wider range of applications (from petrochemical to oil & gas, from marine to industrial, from ambient to cryogenic temperature fluids) typically sold via distribution network. The Sales Director organises and guides the sales team throughout: Business development activities. Preparation of international quotations/offers. Commercial and contractual negotiations thereafter. Project/order hand-over to the execution team (Project Management /Operations). Implementation and use of the CRM system. The role requires to assist the Managing Director with: Preparation of long-term business plan to achieve continued growth over a 3-5 year period. Preparation of monthly report regarding pipeline prospects and forecast orders. Compliance: Ensure that the sales team operates within legal and ethical guidelines, adhering to industry regulations and company policies. The Sales Director frequently collaborates with the BU Marketing Team to review and coordinate marketing activities, with the support of the sales team. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement sales strategies aligned with overall business goals and manufacturing industry trends to drive revenue growth. Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and manage the sales team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure individual and collective success. Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their needs and ensuring effective communication between the sales team and clients. Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify opportunities, threats, and competitive trends in the manufacturing sector, informing sales strategies and positioning. Sales Forecasting: Collaborate with other departments to develop accurate sales forecasts. Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the sales team. Sales Training: Provide ongoing training to the sales team, ensuring they are well-versed in product knowledge, industry trends, and effective techniques. - Sales Process Optimization: Streamline and optimize sales processes to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and improve the overall effectiveness of the sales team. Budget Management: Develop and manage the sales budget, allocating resources effectively to support sales initiatives and maximize return on investment. Customer Feedback: Gather and analyze customer feedback, incorporating insights into product development, marketing strategies, and overall customer satisfaction improvement initiatives. Compliance: Ensure that the sales team operates within legal and ethical guidelines, adhering to industry regulations and company policies. About the ideal candidate: A degree in Business Administration, Engineering Sales, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Proven experience within the industry at a sales management level within a manufacturing or shipping industry. Previous experience of handling and maintaining client and partner relationships. Track record of working with external marketing teams to implement and implement marketing strategies. Ability to handle complexity. Excellent motivational and interpersonal skills.
