We are seeking an experienced women's Buyer who has knowledge and experience of buying multi-category areas. The role will cover Footwear, Accessories, and clothing categories, reporting directly into the Buying Director.
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of footwear construction and fits, as well as experience in sourcing footwear suppliers. Your clothing experience can be across any category with a proven track record of range building for store and ecommerce.
You will have a strong commercial product eye, be able to articulate and understand the Sosandar customer with ease. The ideal candidate will have a passion, an eye for detail, a strong understanding of women's body shapes, and be able to build ranges that flatter every shape.
Key responsibilities include:
* Building a commercial range for your areas reflecting the brand's aesthetics.
* Range building with a strong analytical eye and creative talent.
* Monitoring best and worst sellers across the clothing departments to ensure the footwear reflects and enhances the clothing range.
* Managing the critical path to ensure the range is on time.
* Improving the category bought-in margin by re-negotiating/re-sourcing with the supply base.
* Sourcing, selecting, developing, and negotiating with suppliers to deliver the right footwear and accessories.
* Maximising best sellers by developing additional styles that will broaden the range and reduce risk buying.
* Identifying product opportunities by constantly reviewing the competition and inspirational brands.
* Completing buying trips as needed within the UK and internationally.
* Presenting to the management team on a weekly/bi-weekly basis.
Key skills and experience include:
* A commercial fashion eye with the ability to understand the brand's aesthetics, customers, and competitors.
* Experience in trading an ecommerce department to maximise sales.
* The ability to problem-solve under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong communication skills to enable effective working relationships with all departments and levels.
* Effective time management and the ability to prioritise workload.
