Role: Regional SHE Manager - Facilities and RD&E Location: Frimley, UK Overview: Regional SHE Manager - Facilities and RD&E executes deployment of SC Johnson’s SHE management practices within the global Facilities and RD&E organizations to ensure compliance with local legal requirements and SCJ global standards. This individual will ensure that teams know the right things to be working on (or not working on) based on this alignment. While this role requires safety, health and environmental technical knowledge and experience, success is equally dependent on developing and supporting “champions” at sites within the Facilities and RD&E organizations to drive day-to-day ownership for SHE. Responsibilities: Provides SHE tactical support for 5 administrative office and research and development laboratory locations of varying sizes and complexity, including: Hungary Italy Netherlands Portugal United Kingdom Manages deployment of SHE compliance assurance processes, such as compliance calendars and preventive maintenance schedules, to achieve and maintain compliance with applicable laws, permit authorizations and company standards. Deploys internal audit processes, including SHE-related self-assessments and physical hazard inspections, that proactively identify potential SHE non-conformances. Partners with assigned stakeholders to drive timely, effective closure of identified SHE-related corrective and preventive actions. Leads the development and maintenance of training processes to ensure that required safety, health and environmental training for the organization is defined, addresses required content and is tracked to completion. Provides technical support – such as qualitative industrial hygiene risk assessments – to ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards associated with safety, health, environmental and fire protection matters. Serves as the SHE representative for Management of Change (MOC) reviews to evaluate and control potential health and safety hazards and environmental impacts associated with business activity changes. Champions the investigation of safety, health and environmental incidents and ensures that corrective and preventive actions that address root causes are effectively deployed across the respective sites. Verifies the accuracy of safety, environmental, and sustainability data in the company’s SHE database. Experience you’ll bring: Bachelor’s degree from an academic university in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline. 7-10 years of SHE technical experience in a manufacturing, facilities management, or research & development environment. NEBOSH International Occupational Safety and Health Certificate or designation as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) Experience in the deployment of laboratory safety programs Experience in driving day-to-day ownership of SHE processes to non-SHE program “champions” Project management experience to enable prioritization and management of multiple projects to completion Behaviors you’ll need: Ability to interact with others, establishing open, candid, and trusting relationships Effective communication skills that permit the clear and concise transfer of information to stakeholders Job requirements: Full-time core office hours with the expectation to be available for periodic meetings across time zones Up to 35% domestic and international travel may be required What’s in it for you?
