The Abbeyfield Society are a national charity helping to alleviate loneliness and isolation in older people by providing companionship in our supported housing accommodation, retirement apartments and care homes.
The Role
We are looking for a friendly and diligent individual to assist in the running of our restaurant.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
1. Providing our residents and external customers with a warm inviting welcome
2. Taking meal orders, ensuring that any allergies are communicated to the kitchen
3. Preparation of beverages including a selection of hot drinks
4. Efficient serving of food and clearing of tables, ensuring the restaurant cleanliness is maintained
5. Management of dish washing area
6. Cash handling and card payment
Our ideal candidates for our Restaurant Staff will have the following qualities:
1. An excellent communicator, understanding the needs of older people
2. Active listening skills, to be thorough and pay attention to detail
3. Able to lone work and collaborate with staff as one team
4. Proactive, organised, with great time management, taking pride in what you do
