We are seeking a full time Band 5 Occupational Therapist (OT) to work within the Services for People with a Learning Disability (SPLD) Occupational Therapy team. Main duties of the job The OT team in the SPLD service provides specialist OT assessment, using the Model of Human Occupation, intervention and/or recommendations to service users across Bedfordshire and Luton, using evidence based practice to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions with a focus on enabling an individual's occupational functioning. You will work within a supportive multi-disciplinary community based team and see service users in their homes, day care settings and/or work places. You will also support the work of the wider MDT but your primary focus will be on OT assessment and intervention with service users and their carers, and your role will make a significant difference to their quality of life. About us A planned, supportive induction period will be developed to enable you to reach your full potential in your role. If you have not yet completed your preceptorship, we will support you to complete one. Regular managerial and professional supervision will be provided and we also provide monthly opportunities to participate in OT Service-wide CPD events. Professional development and training are actively encouraged through the appraisal process, and we also offer specialist training opportunities and a Band 5 Support and Development programme.
