Job summary We are now recruiting for our September 2025 cohort of Student Nursing Associate Apprentices Our Nursing Associate apprenticeship, delivered in partnership with University of Lincoln, offers a 2-year fixed-term development role combining both academic and work-based learning. As an apprentice you will work towards progression into the post of Nursing Associate, through successful completion of the Nursing Associate training programme, which includes the attainment of a level 5 Foundation Degree equivalent qualification. As an Apprentice, the education costs will be funded by the Trust, through the Apprenticeship Levy. The Nursing Associate role has been designed nationally to meet the future healthcare needs of the population. Registered Nursing Associates work alongside existing healthcare support workers and Registered Nurses to deliver hands-on care for patients. The role forms an integral part of our nursing development pathway, enabling additional development onto the Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship upon successful completion. These exciting posts are open to band 2 and 3 staff in health care and individuals with a minimum of 12 months experience working in a health-related role who are able to meet the entry criteria. Main duties of the job The Nursing Associate apprenticeship programme combines and integrates both academic and work-based learning through close collaboration between employers and education providers so evidence of study is vital. This post will involve delivering 24 hour, 7 days a week, 365 days a year care. Successful applicants will be required to work across all shift patterns. Apprentices will attend university for theory and will complete work based learning in their clinical workplace. They will also experience working in alternative settings on spoke placements, to fulfill all the requirements of the programme, and registration will be with the NMC.
