WPD Smart Metering joined the Stark Group in June 2022 whereour team installs and maintains a new generation of Smart Meters across the UK– clever technology that enables a range of businesses to manage their energyuse. It also delivers a safe, quality after-service.
The role
This role is an integral part of the WPD Smart Metering team. The main purpose is to carry out metering tasks including those of a complex technical nature to time, cost and quality targets to satisfy business and customer service requirements, and provide technical support to the team.
Key responsibilities &accountabilities
* Install, maintain, remove and replace all typesof metering equipment.
Commission all types of metering equipment.
* Test and verify all LV metering equipment.
* Operate the LV system for associated metering activities inaccordance with procedures.
* Undertake complex tests and inspections on installations.
* Undertake remote testing of metering equipment
* Investigate high consumption complaints and resolve querieswith customers.
* Investigate dangerous occurrences and resolve customerproblems.
* Work on non-standard and other Distribution Business’equipment.
* Carry out work on installations.
* Check and inspect work undertaken by the team for quality andsafety standards.
* Organise people and co-ordinate resources and supplies.
* Coach and guide other staff including instructions tocolleagues in completing tasks.
* Plan and schedule work and make quotations on site tocustomers.
* Provide technical explanation to the team and customers.
What you’ll bring
The successfulcandidate will be authorised to install single and three phase meteringinstallations and ideally have CT metering experience. They will provideexcellent customer service, work to time, cost and quality targets and havegood IT skills, as well as a clean driving license.
* Trained,authorised and experienced in single and three phase meter installation
* Experiencedin CT metering installation would be advantage
* Experiencein Half Hourly, AMR and SMETS metering would be advantage
* Preparedto travel and work away from home on occasions
* City& Guilds full certificate (232 level or appropriate NVQ)
* IEEwiring regulations knowledge
