We are seeking a driven Senior Quantity Surveyor with experience in highways and civil engineering to support the Development Led Infrastructure team. This role offers opportunities for career progression as your experience grows.
Our team works on some of the UK's most complex and diverse projects with demanding technical requirements. We have a strong reputation for delivering schemes in partnership with major residential developers and housebuilders. Frequent site visits are expected, so applicants should be UK-based and willing to travel within the East/South East regions.
The role involves providing professional quantity surveying expertise to support Capital Programme Investment Delivery across several key projects.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience and a background in infrastructure sectors such as highways, drainage, and earthworks. Responsibilities include managing the project lifecycle from feasibility to post-contract delivery.
1. Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure project progress without delays.
2. Lead the development and verification of pricing models from first principles, using industry-standard publications like SPONS & BCIS.
3. Prepare activity schedules, bills of quantities, tender documentation, and conduct tender analysis and recommendations.
4. Provide professional advice to ensure projects are managed according to contract and deadlines.
5. Manage workload and resource allocation efficiently and commercially.
6. Assess contractor applications, manage changes, and handle payments and correspondence.
7. Review and update risk registers, identify risks and opportunities, and resolve issues.
8. Manage change control procedures within contracts.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Degree in quantity surveying or relevant discipline.
* Membership or working towards membership of RICS or similar chartered institute is advantageous.
* Experience managing high-value, multi-disciplinary construction contracts, preferably using NEC/ICC forms.
* Proven track record in managing complex contracts.
* Excellent communication skills with all management levels and stakeholders.
* Strong analytical skills for informed decision-making and reporting.
