Employer: Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council
Location: Magdalen House/Agile
Salary: HAY 3 - £91,369 to £96,369 per annum (salary is negotiable between this range)
Closing date: 6 Oct 2024
Sefton Council and the Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care Board have established a joint role of Place Director who is also the Executive Director responsible for Life Course Commissioning. This role is required as part of the new strategic management structure and will ensure robust leadership is in place across commissioning.
A new opportunity:
This position is critical to our improvement journey. Commissioning, market management and delivery are key statutory duties for the Local Authority and given the significant national reform requirements, this post is required to ensure oversight and transformation is delivered.
You will have strategic leadership responsibility for the whole system direction and implementation of a range of commissioning strategies across adult services with close collaboration with children and young people’s services. You will develop best practices for market engagement and contract performance, anticipate change, influence commissioning to mitigate risk at place and on a regional and national level, and have a proven record of success in leading and championing organisational and cultural change.
Candidates with a strong background in commissioning who can develop strong partnerships and work across organisational boundaries to improve outcomes, shift resources to promote resilience and independence, and support the most vulnerable children, families, adults, and communities at place are encouraged to apply.
Sefton is a confident and connected borough:
Sefton is the northern borough of Liverpool City Region with more than 273,000 residents. The borough is internationally recognised for its outstanding natural beauty and commitment to sustainability.
