Description | Salary £23,893 - £25,979 per annum | Permanent, Full Time, 37 hours per week | County Hall, Preston | PAY AWARD PENDING International Sponsorship – this role is not open to international sponsorship This is an exciting opportunity to join the county council's Democratic Services team on a permanent basis. This roles supports Democratic Services to effectively deliver the council’s decision-making and governance processes, support county councillors to carry out their responsibilities, and provide timely and efficient administrative support for council meetings and council-owned companies. We are looking to recruit a motivated, well developed Democratic Services Business Support Officer who is reliable and can work well as part of a team. The post-holder will carry out a range of administrative tasks that support both the Democratic Services team and the county council as a whole. This includes administering the council's Local Member Grants Scheme and providing important support to council meetings which involve county councillors, senior officers and external stakeholders. The role will involve all aspects of administrative duties within a busy team, including: Diary and meeting management Maintaining and updating information systems accurately Responding to and managing enquiries and correspondence with a range of stakeholders Providing technical support and taking minutes at meetings Planning and organising tasks to meet deadlines The post-holder will need to have excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to build good working relationships with colleagues and senior stakeholders. Digital skills to support the wider team (using systems such as Microsoft Office and Modern.gov) are important, as is the ability to work both independently and collaboratively to a high standard. Applicants must be educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) and have experience of providing administrative support.
