To expand our Team, an opportunity has arisen for a systems Tester within the Digital department in Somerset.
In line with our Digital strategy, you will be working to deliver on our commitment to making real improvements in patient care through the adoption of digital technology throughout our hospitals and the wider health community of Somerset. We are looking for an individual who is either experienced in using Clinical Systems or is an accomplished systems Tester.
We are currently in the process of upgrading all our main clinical systems during the next year. In addition, the Trust is looking to move to a single Electronic Health record. There is plenty of testing required. Join us in our quest to make our systems better and safer than ever.
Main duties of the job
The main duties are to work as part of a testing team supporting operational requirements as defined by testing plans. The post holder will be required to follow testing standards and will be required to supervise non-qualified testing staff in their testing activities.
The day-to-day work can vary and the Trust has a wide programme of digital development that requires testing support. Testers will be expected to help develop test plans, set out both overview and detailed scripts, deliver cycles of testing, document and log issues, and contribute to the relevant testing reports.

Job responsibilities
The post holder will be required to follow testing standards, including script and scenario testing methods. Responsibilities include:
* Follow, update and write defined test scripts and other testing methods
* Report and log testing issues identified during testing
* Update test scripts as required
* Support small groups of end users with testing activities
* Undertake relevant duties as required in line with the testing cycle
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Educated to NVQ level 3 in IT related subject or equivalent gained through specific relevant experience
* GCSE C grade or equivalent in English and Maths
* ITIL Foundation, ECDL or NHS Elite, ISEB Foundation Certificate in Testing
* Evidence of own continuing professional development
Experience
* Experience in user acceptance testing/testing of software
* Presenting to small groups
* Experience of working with or in the NHS
Additional Criteria
* Good working knowledge of computer operating systems and software applications including MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Attention to detail
* Ability to communicate with a range of healthcare professionals
* Excellent keyboard skills
* Knowledge of clinical/technical applications
* Understanding of NHS business and clinical processes
* Awareness of the software development lifecycle
* Understanding of NHS Policies and Strategies, including Data Protection and Security
