We’re looking for an outstanding individual to lead the planning, control and delivery of a strategically important new system implementation. There may also be opportunity to get involved in additional, smaller project delivery during this fixed term contract period.
The primary project that this role will manage will be controlled using Prince II methodology. However, the software delivery phase will be delivered by the supplier in sprints using an agile approach. Therefore, the successful candidate will need to work with both approaches.
In this role you will:
* Lead project delivery through the whole lifecycle
* Manage the project budget
* Lead the assessment, reporting and control of project risks
* Provide regular and on-demand reporting on project plans, progress, risks and issues
* Work with internal teams and third parties to deliver change efforts, including monitoring of delivery quality
* Run procurement exercises for new or replacement services
To be considered for this role you will have/be:
* Demonstrable proficiency in project delivery using Prince II, with a Prince II Practitioner qualification (essential)
* Educated to A Level at grades A to C in a relevant subject, or have demonstrable relevant experience gained in a similar role
* Familiarity with agile software delivery methods
* Experience of delivering change efforts which are strategic, technical and complex
* The ability to build professional relationships, lead people across the organisation and influence without authority
* The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
* The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
* A positive attitude and professional demeanour
* Strong problem-solving skills
* Strong skills in relevant IT systems including Microsoft Word, Excel and Project
It would also be advantageous to have experience of:
* Managing delivery capabilities in small organisations
Contract: Fixed Term Contract, 12 months
Salary: £45,000 to £50,000 per annum dependent on experience, skills and qualifications
Location: Tipton, West Midlands
Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week
The Society is able to offer hybrid working, following successful completion of an initial probationary period, you would be able to work 2 to 3 days at home each week.
