You will be a registered professional with a passion for safeguarding underpinned with excellent working knowledge of the appropriate legislation including adults and children. You will work in an integrated safeguarding role working to maximise safeguarding for children and vulnerable adults.
The role encompasses working within a busy duty desk, support to staff on safeguarding matters, support with organising and facilitating training.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of the role include:
* To be accountable for the delivery of high quality safeguarding services in an integrated safeguarding team, to provide safeguarding and organisational leadership, ensuring the delivery of evidence based safeguarding interventions and practice for both adult and child.
* To continue to demonstrate specialist skills in practice and provide support and advice re: service development and the delivery of care in partnership with service users, carers, staff, managers and other agencies, across a number of teams.
* To be responsible for achieving key performance indicators for the service's safeguarding delivery.
* To be accountable to the Named Professional for Adult Safeguarding and the Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children you will work within the Trust safeguarding team and work collaboratively with clinical teams and external partners across the geography of the Trust.
* You will work as part of the team delivering specialist safeguarding training to all Trust staff, in line with the intercollegiate documents for children and adults.

* Full understanding of relevant policy, legislation, drivers and their application to clinical and service area, e.g. Working Together, Childrens Act 1989, Care Act 2014
* Full understanding/application of relevant clinical practice/standards/audit within identified service area.

* Professional qualification to degree level or Diploma level
