MISSION Do you have the appetite to Grow Your Magic? For Puratos UK, based in Buckingham, we are looking for a Junior Maintenance Technician, Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 16:30. Do you like problem solving? As a company that uses a variety of equipment and technology to produce powder mixes, fruit, and confectionary fillings, you will learn how to maintain that machinery and equipment, finding and resolving faults to optimise production levels. You will conduct planned and predictive maintenance to prevent issues occurring, as well as reactive maintenance, responding to breakdowns. You will also contribute to the installation and decommissioning of equipment. You will work as part of a team or alone, depending on the task - daily you will interact with other technicians and engineers, as well as with operational and site teams, and colleagues from Technical, Development, Finance & Planning. You will get involved in technical performance reviews and continuous improvement activities. You will learn how to employ engineering practices that ensure food safety in line with food safety legislation, keeping machinery and equipment running to meet production needs and outputs. You will ensure that our practices comply with food safety, health, and safety, environmental, sustainability, and engineering regulations and standards, as well as taking account of business operation considerations such as cost and service level agreements. Key Accountabilities These are the key tasks for the Junior Maintenance Technician: Respond to production break downs (once confident and trained) and any other site maintenance queries in a timely manner ensuring effective prioritisation of jobs and tasks following Puratos H&S and Food safety rules and regulations. Complete all planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) as per the prescribed schedule Complete all other pre-planned tasks and work as directed by the Engineering Team Leader Keeping accurate records and logs in line with business requirements – daily GMP, monthly fabrication audits etc Completion of accurate and effective shift handovers and shift reporting ensuring all day-to-day actions (open/closed) are communicated with the engineers/planner Supporting Engineering/site team with contractor control, ensuring procedures are followed. Contacting and liaising with suppliers and contractors when required, ensuring a professional representation of the business. Identify, propose and implement maintenance improvement projects across the business to ensure the business is working to it’s optimum. Completing frequent inspections and quality checks on equipment, machinery, facilities and building through site-based CMMS To support with maintenance of the general site to meet levels expected by Insurers and other independent reports and auditory bodies. Compliance with the Company’s Quality and HACCP systems and Food Hygiene policies at all times; ensuring no cross contamination and food safety risks are present. Completing all maintenance works with a high regard for Health and safety including leading by example and ensuring no personnel is at any unnecessary and avoidable risk around maintenance work and projects. Supporting the business with high profile visits and audits including BRC Working closely with the Quality, Production and Management teams to identify, action and prevent any non-conformances or improvement areas Develop and implement processes that improve production and deliver quality outputs This list is not exhaustive, and the job holder may be required to undertake other duties in line with the nature and scope of the role as requested by the management team.
