The Estates, Facilities & PFI Division of the University Hospitals of North Midlands Trust are looking to appoint dynamic, enthusiastic Facilities Supervisors to support the Soft FM Domestic services. The candidates will predominantly be based at our Royal Stoke Hospital Site. However, on occasions, there may be an element of across Site working at our County Hospital Site in Stafford. In the event of this, free shuttle bus transport is provided from each Site.
The individual will be adaptable, self-motivated, able to prioritise their own workload and use their own initiative to achieve set objectives and all duties and tasks required by the Trust to support the delivery of the domestic and Ward Assistant Services. This includes supporting the continuation of unity between Stoke and County Site practices through the meeting of key performance targets relating to the National Cleaning Standards guidelines around Infection Prevention, maintenance standards, PLACE, and the reduction of hospital-acquired infections, as well as the Food Hygiene Standards.
As part of the FM Services Team, the FM Services Supervisor will be responsible for managing the daily delivery of an efficient and effective customer-focused quality service, appropriately and on time. The scope of the service includes, but is not limited to, Cleaning, Catering, and Residencies. The supervisor will liaise with and maintain business relationships with representatives of management within the Trust and other agencies as requested.
With a team of over 100 staff members, comprising Supervisors and Facilities Service Support Assistants, candidates will require well-practiced leadership skills of a high standard along with the confidence to challenge practice in order to continue the department’s success. This role is both challenging and rewarding and will require an individual who is organized, consistent, has good leadership skills, and knowledge of cleaning processes, COSHH, Food Standards, and Health & Safety.
As an organization, we recognize the importance of work-life balance, achieved through flexibility. Therefore, we encourage an adaptive approach to start and finish times to meet the right candidate’s needs. In turn, the successful candidate will need to be flexible in their working approach, as there will be a requirement to work varied shifts, including some weekends.
