Job summary An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our dedicated team of Mammographers and General X-ray Radiographers at the Princess of Wales Hospital and Snopdrop Breast Centre. Cwm Taf Morgannwg Health Board hosts the National Imaging Academy Wales which provides us with excellent future development opportunities for our staff. We actively support monthly internal CPD meetings, regularly support external training for staff and we are keen to develop you professionally. Main duties of the job To work as a Senior Radiographer providing care for patients within the Mammography and General X-Ray departments, working without direct supervision, reporting to the Superintendent Radiographers within the Department. To work closely with the breast imaging team and the wider breast service team within a busy and dynamic environment. There is a requirement to participate in the Department's 24 hour shift roster. There is an option to negotiate a flexible working agreement within core hours and interested applicants are encouraged to contact the department for further information. Good communication skills are essential to ensure an effective and safe service to the patients in our care. The successful candidate will be required to liaise with staff across the Health Board and to provide help and instruction to other members of staff within the Department. Experience and an understanding of the of the Clinical Audit process is an essential requirement of the post and involvement in departmental audits is encouraged. The Radiology Directorate supports training and development of staff and the successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate the ability to train and mentor Radiographers and student Radiographers within their specialised roles.
