MAIN PURPOSE
Don't want to go to University - want to work but keep on training? Then look no further than our engineering apprentice roles. This is part of one of RMD Kwikform’s central engineering teams, and will work under the control, instruction and guidance of the Engineering Manager/Team Leader and in conjunction with the Sales Team, convert engineering enquiries for the supply of RMDK equipment into drawings and quotations on a hire and sale basis. This may appeal to someone with STEM A Levels or T Levels who has an interest in working with AutoCAD and finding solutions. This will lead to a degree apprenticeship. We have one role in our Aldridge, West Midlands site (WS9 8BW) and one in our Skelmersdale, Lancs site (WN8 9PT).
N.B - This role will start in August 2025.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Convert enquiries into innovative efficient solutions, which best combine the commercial and technical aspects in order to achieve profitable revenue.
2. Preparation of schemes/calculations/quotations within time constraints reasonably demanded by the Sales Team.
3. Design and production of safe structures/equipment in accordance with appropriate standards and RMDK product data.
4. Proactively seek assistance from other engineering staff in RMDK product calculations and applications when required/needed.
5. Support orders received from customers through production of final drawings, cost estimates, progress paperwork, and agreement of variations as required for each project.
6. Have a proactive responsibility for Health and Safety issues.
7. Carry out work in accordance with RMDK BSEN ISO Procedures and other RMDK procedures.
8. Enter into a continuous learning process in RMDK and Civil Engineering methods and work towards a level of experience determined by the Engineering Director.
9. Be a supportive and collaborative member of the engineering team and as a proportion of their work carry out office administration tasks as required.
10. To build a knowledge and skill level for the abilities required to progress to the next promotional level.
11. Provide admin support to the Engineering Team.
12. Dealing with ad hoc management requests.
13. Be an ambassador of the Apprentice scheme, attend college/university & attend regular meetings within the Company.
