We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior EMHP to join our new Mental Health Support Team (MHST) in the Louth area. This is a unique opportunity to shape and lead a service dedicated to improving the mental health and well-being of children and young people within education Responsibilities:
Leadership: Provide supervision and support to EMHPs, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care.

Training & Education: Facilitate training sessions for school staff and parents to boost mental health awareness and effective support strategies.
Consultation: Serve as the primary contact between schools, health services, and external agencies, offering expert guidance and fostering collaboration.
Requirements:
Qualified EMHP with extensive mental health experience.
Proven ability to supervise and lead a team.

Main duties of the job
The Senior Education Mental Health Practitioner (registered EMHP) plays a pivotal role in supporting the mental health and well-being of children and young people within educational settings. The key duties include:
Supervision and Leadership: Providing management and clinical supervision to EMHPs, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based interventions, upholding safeguarding procedures
Service Development: Contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of mental health initiatives within schools, aligning with local and national policies.
Direct Intervention: Delivering targeted therapeutic interventions to children, young people, and families, focusing on low to moderate mental health issues, using approaches like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and other evidence-based practices.
Training and Education: Designing and delivering training sessions for school staff, parents, and other stakeholders on mental health awareness and strategies to support students' well-being.
Consultation and Liaison: Acting as a key point of contact between schools, health services, and external agencies, providing expert advice on mental health issues and facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Overseeing the collection and analysis of data to measure the effectiveness of interventions and services, ensuring continuous improvement and adherence to best practices.

Provide visible leadership to the teams, leading by example as a positive role model.
Provide clinical support to the team based on knowledge and experience as capacity allows.
Provide clinical supervision to EMHPs and sometimes other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
To support and lead the development of projects within the childrens and young peoples services as and when required.
Meet with the Team Co-ordinator for caseload and managerial supervision to review caseload outcomes, performance and professional development.
Complete own appraisal with supervisor to identify own goals and objectives.
To undertake any other duties commensurate with the post as directed by the relevant managers and as identified as service priority.
Provide management supervision and appraisals to EMHPs, lead and coordinate staff in the delivery and evaluation of care.
Undertake the supervision of students on placement within the service and junior staff as agreed with the Team Manager and participate with the induction of new staff.

Essential
1. Competent and familiar with low intensity CBT interventions
2. Substantial experience of working in a CYP clinical setting delivering low intensity CBT
3. Evidence of CPD post training
4. Providing supervision experience or transferable skills
5. Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team
6. Experience of effective engagement with families and carers
7. Sound knowledge of National legislation and drivers, and other legislation related to the care of children and young people with emotional and mental health concerns
8. Awareness of national and local policies and how these impact on child and adolescent education.

10. Experience of working in a community environment

Qualifications
Essential
14. Low Intensity Supervisor training qualification, (or willingness to attend this at the earliest available opportunity)
15. EMHP Post Graduate Certificate
16. Substantial experience of providing supervision to low intensity practitioners
17. Registered with the BABCP or BPS as an EMHP (or applied for this)
Desirable
18. Low intensity senior practitioner Course completion or willingness to undertake
Skills and Competences

19. Critical awareness of alternative evidence-based therapeutic modalities and treatment options for mild-moderate MH difficulties
20. Experience delivering psycho-educational groups in a community setting.
21. Experience delivering psycho-educational groups in a community setting.
22. Recognising when core interventions are appropriate for neurodiverse CYP and being able to make necessary adaptations
23. Recognising when alternative evidence-based low-intensity interventions are required for neurodiverse CYP and being able to deliver these
24. Recognising when CYPs needs or wider complexity factors ( social/physical needs/risk/neurodiversity) mean they are beyond low intensity/early intervention remit and competence. Make suitable onwards referrals where indicated.
25. Knowledge, skills, and experience of Whole School Approach to Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing
26. Experience of working directly with senior leadership teams in service context ( education, health, VCSE) to support design and delivery of programmes, policy, pathways, support offers etc
27. Has a clear working knowledge of the application of their respective professional code of conduct
