Business Unit – Wealth Planning
The Wealth Planning team is responsible for the provision of comprehensive financial planning advice to individuals, companies, partnerships, and trusts. We work with our clients to create bespoke financial plans, considering the whole of the market to find the best financial planning solutions. We are involved in a broad range of activities including:
* Cash flow analysis
* Psychometric risk profiling
* Pension aggregation
* Income tax planning
* Inheritance tax planning
* Business planning
* Protection for death and illness
* Long term savings and investments
* Offshore and international planning for non-domiciled and non-resident clients
* Venture Capital Trust, Enterprise Investment Scheme and Business Relief advice
Brief Role Objective:
We are seeking to hire a Chartered Financial Planner(s) to be based in any of the following regional offices (Birmingham, Edinburgh, Leeds or Manchester) providing wealth planning and structuring advice to clients of the firm.
You are expected to manage your own workload, make decisions, and give advice to clients. You are recognized within the team and by the business for being extremely competent in your role, possessing a high level of technical knowledge and vast experience working with a great degree of autonomy.
Your breadth of experience and professionalism allow you to contribute to the team and the firm beyond your technical expertise, e.g., representing the team (or firm) on committees/industry bodies on a regular or ad hoc basis.
You are responsible for maintaining your own client relationships and relationships with key stakeholders.
Key Regulatory Responsibilities:
* Ensure compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements at all times (e.g., FCA, Money Laundering/ Proceeds of Crime, Data Protection, Health and Safety).
* Ensure all wealth advice is conducted in a responsible and compliant manner, meeting both regulatory and LGT requirements.
* Ensure continuous professional development to meet regulatory requirements.
* Ensure that all account relationships and activities do not expose the Firm to unacceptable levels of legal, regulatory, operational, or reputational risk.
* Ensure that all business and advice is conducted in a compliant manner.
Your profile
Knowledge and Qualifications
* University qualified or equivalent industry experience.
* Sound technical knowledge of current legislation, industry, and products.
* Minimum 7 years’ experience as a wealth planner in a private wealth manager/private banking environment.
Skills and Attributes:
* Strong understanding of the financial planning and regulatory advice process is essential.
* Strong understanding of the compliance requirements within a wealth planning team is essential.
* Excellent knowledge of wealth planning products and how to assess suitability relative to the clients’ objectives.
* Methodical and practical approach to work and delivering of wealth planning advice.
* Excellent planning and organizational skills and able to prioritize own workload and meet agreed deadlines.
* Ability to effectively manage expectations for both internal and external stakeholders.
* Sound knowledge of legislation relative to financial planning.
* High level of wealth planning technical knowledge.
* Honesty and integrity.
* Experience of using cash flow planning software (Voyant would be preferable).
* Pension transfer specialist.
* Proficient IT skills and competent in the use of Outlook, Word, and Excel.
* Conduct yourself in accordance with the FCA’s Statement of Principles and Code of Practice for Approved Persons.
