We are recruiting a Senior Engineer at Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Working hours: 37 Hours
Contract Type: Permanent/Full Time
Location: Highway House/ Working hours can be split between home and office depending on specific task requirements.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Highways Team.
We pay an attractive salary of £41,511 - £44,711 and offer access to training and development opportunities.
The successful candidate will manage a small team and an annual revenue budget of around £1.5m per year to ensure the delivery of proactive and reactive maintenance of highway and land drainage systems, as well as delivering drainage improvement schemes. The role is critical to ensuring the safety of highway users and flood protection to people and properties.
The successful candidate will have a proven ability to make sound engineering decisions under pressure based on investigations and available evidence and will have experience in team leadership and budget management.
For the role, we ask that you have:
1.A relevant Level 4, 5 or 6 qualifications on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales (CQFW). For example, HNC or Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
2. Knowledge and experience of the design, operation and maintenance of highway and land drainage systems.
3. A full UK Category B (Cars) driving license and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to travel throughout the borough to attend meetings and visit sites.
