We are looking for a Mechanical engineer for our products. You will be a part of a global team that have a dedicated focus on cost optimization and cost out. This position will have a very wide variety of scope of engineering as this involves all our products in EMEA&SAL region.
Position Summary
You will be responsible of industrial and mechanical design, verification and implementation as well as belonging technical specifications and documentation, for your areas of the solution. Those areas will mainly be related to high volume products. The position will be based in Dundee, Scotland or Malmö, Sweden, and will work in a global team.
Key Responsibilities
* Mechanical design development, 3D CAD modelling of e.g., exterior parts and internal structural parts
* Be involved in Industrial design discussions
* Possibility to lead colleagues involved in the mechanical design
* Assemble prototypes for verification in our lab
* Define test methods, verify the design accordingly and thereafter analyze the result
* Write technical documentation such as requirement and test specifications, and test reports
* Make design ready for release and implementation in production line
Skills and Qualifications
* BSc in mechanical engineering or equivalent
* 4+ years working experience in similar position. Experience in following areas is preferred but not required.
* Industrial design
* Fabricated and formed sheet metal parts
* Injection molded plastic and elastomeric parts
* Machined aluminum, steel, and plastic parts
* Packaging of electronic components
* Cooling solutions, heat exchangers
* Experience working with high volume products is a merit but not necessary
* Proficiency in CAD system, preferably SolidWorks
* Proficiency in PDM system like SmarTeam or equivalent
* Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
* Experience working in test lab, experimental shops
Essential Functions
* Fluent in English, verbal and written
* Problem solving skills with a drive for results and a customer-centric mindset
* Understands the need and has the necessary skillset for engineering documents (requirement specifications, design reviews, test plans, test reports)
* Open to working in an international team with colleagues located in EMEA, US, Latin America, China and India)
* Works efficiently both individually and in a team, both on site and on distance
* Able to travel and to other DFS sites
