Job Overview:
We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Band 5 Pharmacy Technician - Higher Level to join the Pharmacy team at North Devon District Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a collaborative healthcare environment, supporting both the inpatient and outpatient areas within Planned Care and Surgery.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide a high standard of pharmaceutical care to patients, supporting safe, effective, and efficient medicines management.
2. Work closely with pharmacists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the timely supply and optimisation of medication.
3. Support the implementation of medicines reconciliation, discharge planning, and adherence initiatives.
4. Contribute to audits, stock control, and quality improvement projects within the department.
5. Maintain compliance with departmental SOPs, Trust policies, and professional standards.
Requirements:
1. Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
2. Completion of an accredited Medicines Management or Accuracy Checking Technician qualification (desirable).
3. Experience working in a hospital or primary care setting.
4. Excellent communication and organisational skills.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable:
1. Experience with electronic prescribing and medicines administration (EPMA) systems.
2. Knowledge of NHS processes and governance frameworks.
