An exciting opportunity for an experienced and proactive individual to join our team as an ERP Functional Support Senior Officer. The role is to be part of an essential team responsible for ensuring the effective operational delivery of the councils ERP system as part of a transactional shared service on behalf of both Cheshire West and Chester and Cheshire East Councils.
This role is to provide maternity cover as a senior officer responsible for supporting the councils ERP system, Unit4, with a particular focus on payroll processes and configuration. The ideal candidate will have a functional configuration background ideally in Unit4 but other similar roles and experience would be desirable. They must also have a history of working in system administration providing support for system defects and configuration changes. Experience and knowledge of transactional, finance and/or payroll processes is essential as well as experience of configuration management and testing.
In the role you will be part of a functional support team co-ordinating the completion of a range of sys admin responsibilities as well as daily activities relating to support desk and issue resolution. You will also undertake system corrections and improvements to ensure efficient and effective processing within the councils Enterprise Resource Planning application, Unit4. Knowledge of the Unit4 application would be desirable as would experience in a similar system or position.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
1. Provide frontline support for Unit4 system administration and functional configuration.
2. Maintenance and administration of system settings and attributes.
3. Co-ordinate delivery of incident testing and resolution.
4. Monitoring system performance and resolving/supporting defect calls.
5. Supporting the implementation of system maintenance updates and investigating/troubleshooting errors that may arise.
This role would suit someone with IT experience in ERP applications and knowledge of Microsoft Office. The role requires excellent communication skills and an ability to interpret and present data in a meaningful way. A pro-active and positive attitude with the ability to manage priorities effectively within a fast-paced environment is key.
An understanding of finance and payroll processes is vital to support team members in creating a positive and effective working environment and maintain customer relationships. Proven experience of analysing and documenting complex business processes and configuration management to ensure procedures are effective and completed successfully is also required.
