We are looking for a qualified Nurse who can join our team at Waterfront surgery based within the social care centre.
You will need to be an enthusiastic and caring Practice Nurse to join our friendly practice to provide high quality patient care to the practice population.
Rated Good in all areas of CQC.
Main duties of the job
Provide services to the practice patient population to the highest possible standard in line with competencies and professional code of conduct. Monitor and maintain the standard of care provided, taking appropriate action if standards are not met through self and peer review, benchmarking and evaluation.
Participate in clinical governance and clinical audit activities to ensure the continual improvement of service delivery.
The nurse will have a range of clinical skills developed through experience and will be competent to deal with the general nursing of patients who present to the surgery, working to practice policies, and referral to other disciplines, colleagues, or GPs when appropriate.
Duties to include
1. Child Immunisations
2. Wound care (assessment & management)
3. Cervical Screening
4. Family Planning
5. Ear Irrigation
6. Removal of sutures & Clips
7. ECG including 24hr ECG
8. BP monitoring including 24hr BP
Experience of working with patients with Diabetes, Hypertension, and Asthma would be an advantage.
About us
Our clinical team consists of GPs, Physician Associates, Physio, Health care assistants, and Clinical Pharmacists as well as staff that are joined to our PCN grouping. These staff include social prescribers, clinical pharmacists, first contact physiotherapists, and a pharmacy technician.
Our patient population is 9100.
We use EMIS as our clinical system.

Person Specification
Experience
* Minimum of 2 years post graduate experience.
* Practice nurse, Primary care experience within General Practice.
* Setting clinical standards.
Qualifications
* Registered General Nurse.
* Experience of working in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct (2002) and The Scope of Professional Practice (1992).
* Full registration with NMC.
* A demonstrable commitment to professional development.
* Competency in basic nursing duties required for the post.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work well autonomously and within a team.
* Willingness to contribute to multi-professional working.
* An understanding, acceptance, and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality.
* Ability to use own judgement, resourcefulness, and common sense.
* Experience of primary care.
* Experience of IT clinical systems (EMIS).
* Experience of QOF and chronic disease management (such as Diabetes, CHD, COPD, and Asthma).
* Specific skills/qualifications relevant to the post, including Phlebotomy, Cervical Cytology, Childhood immunisations, Travel clinic, and smoking cessation.
