The Audiology Service covers the boroughs of Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale (HMR), Bury and Oldham.
An exciting apprenticeship training opportunity has been developed where you can progress your administration skills whilst undertaking a level 3 Business Administration qualification. Upon completion of your training, which is expected to be completed within 18 months, you will progress to the post of a band 3 Higher Clerical Officer within the Audiology Clerical Team. This post holder will primarily work at Nye Bevan House in Rochdale, with some expectation of cross borough working within the clerical team.
This is a busy and demanding office environment, dealing with patient enquiries mainly over the telephone. You will provide comprehensive administration and secretarial support for the audiology service using various patient management computer systems and software packages. Responsibilities include:
1. Accepting referrals using e-booking and allocating patients to appropriate clinics.
2. Provision of clinical correspondence and reports.
3. Responding pro-actively to patient telephone enquiries and booking appointments.
4. Providing secretarial support in the preparation of reports, including typing and audio typing.
5. Accurately recording outcomes on the patient management systems.
6. Exhibiting highly competent computer skills.
7. Demonstrating excellent communication skills with other professionals and the public.
8. Producing work of a high standard to tight deadlines.
9. Maintaining a clear telephone manner.
