Network and Server Operations Team Lead (Contract to Hire)

The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Network and Server Operations Team Lead to manage and oversee our network and server infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in network and server administration, combined with strong leadership skills. As a Team Lead, you will ensure the optimal performanceand reliability of our IT systems, while leading a team of skilled professionals
Responsibilities:
1. Assist in planning and executing the installation, configuration, and maintenance of server hardware, software, LAN and WAN networks, and operating systems.
2. Maintain operating efficiency and stability, ensure the security and integrity of all systems and data, and respond to outages and other issues.
3. Perform system and network administration tasks, including managing routers, firewalls, servers, computers, hardware/software, data recovery, and backups.
4. Handle application administration activities such as creating, modifying, and deleting users, optimizing remote access, and managing security access for messaging systems, databases, and web applications.
5. Collaborate with other departments to address systems/network needs and upgrade systems as necessary.
6. Assist in developing, testing, evaluating, and installing system enhancements
Qualifications:
7. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Systems, or a related field
8. Minimum of 10 years' experience in IT support, with at least 1 year in a leadership role
9. Knowledge of Windows, MacOS, network, and mobile operating systems, device hardware, and common business systems such as Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
10. Familiarity with device management and deployment systems such as Quest KACE, JAMF, Intune, SmartDeploy, etc.
11. Strong leadership and team management skills, with a focus on training and development
12. Basic understanding of ITIL or other IT service management frameworks is a plus.
13. Industry standard certificates such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ are preferred.
14. Solid understanding of network routing protocols and advanced analytical problem-solving skills
15. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users.
