Band 7 Highly Specialist Cardiac Physiologist - Echocardiographer
Vacancy: 1 x part time (18.75 hours per week)
Applications are invited for a highly motivated echocardiographer to join the Cardiology Department at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust. The successful candidates will work at both Croydon University Hospital and Purley War Memorial Hospital Community Diagnostic Centre on a rotational basis.
We are a very busy department providing a wide range of investigations both invasive and non-invasive.
A complement of 8 Cardiologists is supported by a team of cardiac physiologists, assistant practitioners, specialist registrars and specialist nurses along with a dedicated clerical team.
Adult and paediatric transthoracic echocardiography is regularly performed along with complex echocardiography (stress echo/ transoesophageal echo/ contrast and bubble studies).
A full range of non-invasive and invasive procedures are performed within the department and there is also a well established pacemaker, ICD and CRT implant and follow-up service.
This post provides an exciting opportunity an enthusiastic experienced Cardiac Physiologist to join our team and help deliver a high quality service for our patient population.
The successful applicant will have BSc. Clinical Physiology, HNC MPPM or equivalent. Full British Society of Echocardiography transthoracic echo accreditation or recognized equivalent is essential for this post.
To work in co-operation with the Principal Cardiac Physiologist and Cardiac Imaging Consultant, as part of the team that provides Cardiac Physiology Services within Croydon Health Services NHS Trust in a timely, efficient, high quality, equitable and cost effective manner.
The post holder will be a specialist in the field of echocardiography with experience in all other areas of non-invasive cardiac diagnostic testing. He/ she will work predominantly in echo and hold transthoracic echo accreditation by the British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) or equivalent.
In addition to clinical duties, he/ she will have designated managerial/ educational responsibilities as the needs of the service dictate.
