POSITION SUMMARY:
The Clinical Systems Specialist is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the Clinical Physician Management System. The Clinical Systems Specialist will also assist with the implementation and maintenance of the Clinical Order Management System. Duties will include responsibilities for training the physician community end users and providing training materials. The Specialist will serve as a liaison with Corporate IS, physicians, departments, and other customers with clinical-related IS issues. Participates with implementations and supports clinical, ancillary, and financial applications.
Responsibilities:
* Ability for abstract reasoning and a talent for explaining the abstractions in concrete terms.
* Ability to empathize with people of many backgrounds functioning with any staff or operational level in the hierarchy of the hospital.
* Able to communicate with all staff levels. Excellent communication skills and good analytical skills to resolve system problems.
* Able to travel 25% of the time. Travel to different facilities is required.
* Able to work under pressure to meet timelines.
* Extended work at video display terminal.
* Flexibility of schedule.
* Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications required.
* Comfortable and confident interacting with physicians and clinicians at all levels.
* Understanding of clinical workflow and operational processes within a department or interdepartmentally.
* Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training, and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.
Education / Licensure:
* Minimum of Associates Degree in Nursing, Information Systems or related field or a minimum of 3 years of clinical systems experience in a health care setting.
* Should have experience utilizing personal computer hardware and software, preferably with Cerner or Clindoc software.
* Preferred experience with report writing and/or report creation.
