We are looking for a highly motivated Deputy Manager to work along side their Club Manager and assist with planning, organising and running the Club. At this school they aim to provide a safe, secure and relaxed environment, offering a range of activities to reflect the interests of the children in their care. They believe in CPD for all our staff and we encourage them to be the best they can be.
First and foremost you must enjoy working with children aged between 4 – 11 years old. You must also be responsible, enthusiastic, reliable and a team player? If you have all of these qualities, we really want to meet you! This role begins April 2025.
Duties as Deputy Manager:
* To assist the Manager with Planning, preparing and delivering quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment
* To follow and implement safeguarding procedures/policies on a day to day basis
* To deputise in the manager’s absence
* To convey a positive attitude with all tasks undertaken and to be a positive role model to both children and staff
* To assist the club staff in providing comprehensive care for the children including collecting them from school and delivering them safely to parents/carers.
* To assist the Manager with refreshments and ensuring that hygiene, health and safety standards are met
* Administering first aid when necessary along with the Manager and all other club staff
* Setting up the play space including moving furniture and play equipment
* Consulting with children and involving them in planning activities
* Providing support and supervision to play workers and other staff, including volunteers
* Developing and maintaining good communication with the club manager and all staff, with school staff and parents when necessary
* Undertaking appropriate and relevant training in a timely manner
* Monitoring and maintaining a healthy, safe and secure working environment
* Working within the framework of the club’s policies and procedures and adhering to Early Years provision within the club
* To convey excellent communication skills with both children and staff members
* To have the ability to work on your own initiative, using judgement and common sense
* To understand the various needs of children and families
* To know where to find all information regarding allergies, children’s records (contact details), policies and any other important paperwork concerning the children with your care
* To deliver equal opportunities in a play setting and be inclusive to all
* To put ideas forward to the club manager to improve club practice
