Clinical Practice Educator - Medical/Surgical
We're looking to appoint an enthusiastic, experienced nurse to work as a Clinical Practice Facilitator with experience within Medical & Surgical Nursing at The Wellington Hospital & Corporate on a fixed-term contract until May 2026.

Main Duties of the Job
The Clinical Practice Facilitator is responsible for developing nursing practice and supporting the professional development of nursing staff across the facility. This includes the inpatient and outpatient departments on all campuses. This will involve working closely with the Clinical Nurse Specialists to ensure a multifaceted approach to education and training and developing individual learning plans with staff, acting as a mentor and role model to nursing staff using evidence-based best practices to ensure the highest level of nursing standards are upheld.

Job Responsibilities
The post holder will assist the Modern Matrons and Clinical Service Managers in the development and review of training needs analysis and ensuring nursing staff are competent and fit for practice as per NMC standards.
Promote an environment that encourages learning and continual professional development as part of enhancing clinical nursing skills. The post holder will be expected to be highly visible, working alongside colleagues to deliver best practice.
Involved in developing education and training programmes in line with service needs, assist in the delivery of education programmes and act as a role model/supporting nurses in the clinical environment.
1. Analyse, support and implement evidence-based practice.
2. Implement clinical policy and review compliance.
3. Recognize and support the development of staff where there are issues regarding their capability.
4. Participate in the development of clinical supervision with all nursing staff.
5. Work alongside staff to ensure they are safe in their practice and implement and monitor improvement plans following incidents.
6. Provide support for individual development, for both teaching and clinical practice.
7. Maintain and monitor a register of Safe Blood Transfusion competencies in line with legal requirements.
8. Maintain a register of mentors in line with NMC guidelines.
9. Interpret national guidelines and safety alerts.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse, Level 1 with current NMC Professional Registration.
* Extensive post-registration experience, with evidence of teaching experience.
* ENB Certificate 100, 998, 254, 249 or equivalent surgical and medical experience.
* Evidence of first line Management Training.
* Degree in relevant subject area.
